Cassie Cassie

In November of 2001, our beloved Sharpei, Otis, passed over from anal sac cancer. Although he was diagnosed many months ago and lived much longer than originally thought, it was a big loss for our family. Since we had room for another dog, my search began in January. On the Internet, one particular dog kept coming up, Cassie, listed as a Lab/Sharpei cross. After inquiring as to whether or not she was cat-friendly and after hearing from Jodi about how unhappy she was at the shelter, our family decided to adopt her.

Cassie is one of the most well behaved and obviously trained dogs we have ever seen. She immediately became friends with our other Sharpei, Mei-Ling who is truly happy to have someone she can bark with and snitch food from. Although a big concern was Spooky, our 13-year old cat who was rescued 1-1/2 years ago, it soon became obvious that Cassie is afraid of cats. Spooky takes full advantage of this by hissing at her every chance she gets. Cassie likes to nap and when missing, we can always find her sprawled out on her bed. She is very playful and enjoys running around the yard, off the leash, but always watchful of where we are. She is a wonderful, playful, obedient, mannerly dog and we are so happy she has joined our family.
